2009 Tour
For the first time in five tours we left the UK with exactly the same performers as we had had for the tour previous. The really important change was that this time we had an extra passenger - Anne, who two years ago had just received news of her serious illness and stayed home. We were all so pleased (and Roger, particularly) to have Anne with us .
As a general rule surnames will only be printed if the full name is easily accessible on the internet. If you would prefer your name/surname to be removed please contact us via our email link on the home page.
If you are looking at the pages using Internet Explorer you will find that it's not possible to enlarge the photographs, but it is possible to view a brief description by placing the cursor over a picture. If you are using Mozilla Firefox you will find the reverse of this - i.e., it's possible to view enlarged versions of the pictures, but there are no descriptions. Who knows what other web browsers may decide to do. Queer old world, isn't it!
| It took us a long time before we realised there was an easier way to catch the plane than getting up at 3.00am. So this year we left Friday afternoon to spend a very pleasant evening at the Manchester Airport Hilton. Up at 7.00am Saturday morning, breakfast in the hotel and a short courtesy ride to the airport. |
Georgia
What a wonderful place to begin a tour. We'd like to thank Rev. Bill Hutcheson and Chuck Eiland for giving us the opportunity to sing in Dahlonega Baptist Church. And to our generous hosts, John & Betty Lane, Fred & Carol and Ralph & Carole. Finally to Joe (for the loan of his bike) and the Dahlonega Ridge Runners for the ride out to North Carolina and back.
| True to tradition, we
began our tour by joining with and singing during Dahlonega Baptist Church's
Morning Worship on Sunday morning. |

| We were delighted to accept DBC's 'Joyful Hearts' request to 'sing for our lunch' . That same evening we sang our first ever concert in the Baptist Church. | ||||
| Our first free day and Jeff chose the option of a ride out with the Dahlonega Ridge Runners, leaving everyone else to do their own thing in Dahlonega. Special thanks to Joe for the loan of his magnificent Goldwing for Jeff to ride. | ||||
| Following a 'leaving party' at the home of Fred & Carol it was an early start for David & Jeff when John drove them to Atlanta to collect the van and trailer we were to use the rest of the tour. Then back to Dahlonega to collect the rest of us ready for the long drive to Georgetown, SC |
Next stop South Carolina or back to Fourum's Homepage
